The cottage
Original stone flagging, exposed granite walls, a granite inglenook fireplace, and beamed ceilings testify to the cottage's origins as the home of a 19th century mining family. Today these are tastefully complemented with attractive furniture and modern conveniences to provide everything you need for a very comfortable stay.
Downstairs, the main living room has sitting and dining areas. There is a wood-burning stove, and a TV with DVD and CD player. The fitted kitchen has all the modern cooking and dining equipment you might need, including a microwave. There is also a washing machine/dryer.
The two bedrooms and the bathroom are on the first floor. One bedroom has a large double bed, the other a large single. The bathroom has a claw-foot cast iron bath and an over-bath shower.
Heating is by night storage heaters and the wood-burning stove. All electricity is included.
There is a pretty lawned garden at the front of the cottage, with a picnic bench for alfresco dining.
